Artistic Programming and Community Events Committee [APCEC]
The Artistic Programming and Community Events Committee promotes, plans, and implements the development of community arts programming. This committee meets formally six times a year to discuss ongoing projects, and help with events planning for the ZACC, and field artist proposals for community projects partnering with the ZACC.
Goal:
To solidify partnerships among citywide agencies and organizations and to align and maximize our programmatic and physical resources.
Duties:
Hold meetings with community members as a representative of the ZACC.
Organize and mobilize the ZACC’s ability to work with other organizations, businesses, and University civic groups.
Support the ZACC Artistic Programming Director to field funding opportunities for
neighborhood and community projects.
Solidify partnerships among citywide agencies and organizations such as the University and City of Missoula.
Serving on the APCEC is a leadership development opportunity in organizing and mobilizing community arts as a representative for the ZACC.
The ZACC is committed to serving all segments of the community and representing a diverse range of interests at our facility. The APCEC plays an integral role in our efforts to engage individuals in our immediate community that normally may not have the economic means to experience art hands-on.
The APCEC develops and fosters pride in the surrounding area through program development and networking. The committee is responsible for informally analyzing the results of artistic projects. The committee empowers our immediate residents to use the ZACC as a launch pad for leadership development, group strengthening, community engagement, and collaborative projects into the future.
Examples of projects: Murals, Representing ZACC at community events and projects, Block party planning and more.
